So you've come to the Emerald Coast and you've booked and charter or rental boat month prior and mother nature has decided not to cooperate with you. Here's the good the news: It's Florida and it always says it's going to rain. Sometimes it does rain somewhere in the area. However As long as it isn't thunder or lightning you are good. Enjoy your day. I understand there are many types of people. Those who say, "We are going to get wet" as they are standing chest deep in a body of water, and those who are going to let absolutely nothing ruin their day. My best advice if you book a charter is stay flexible and also have a backup day. Also have this discussion with who you book your charter. They may charge you a flex fee depending on the style of vessel (that is if the boat has covering rain is a nonfactor), or be flexible with your time throughout the day to go from a day cruise to a sunset cruise. Make the most of a your day on the way and always ....arrive with a positive attitude! The funnest group of bachelorettes I spent day with was ones who decided they wanted to ride out a rain storm that turned into a a downpour. I pulled out a a tarp and these 12 girls did not let a torrential downpour even dampen their spirits as they sang louder and challenged the rain gods to bring it on. One of the funnest times I had even soaking wet. Also this weather may cause the ocean to look rough. Just because the ocean is rough, doesn't mean sandbars and the bay is.
